Praying is basically just talking to God, an omnipotent being. Though, typically you are asking for something, whether that be wisdom, for Him to take control of a situation outside of your control, or that He would help someone else in some way. Thats a very basic list of what one could pray for. Its not about subconscioius since God is an entity outside of everything and in control of everything. It definitely is about humility because if youre not praying then you think you can do everything

To be clear the wishing terminology was because Nintendo would not allow any religious terminology on their platform for quite awhile.
